A Beginner’s Guide on How to Win at Roulette

January 15, 2020Gambling

You’re probably aware of what the game of roulette is, right? Do you see those games
on the movies where a player would go to a table and see this wheel turn and a white
ball moves to a certain number? Well, that is basically what roulette is.

Depending on the version of the game you’re playing (either American or European),
the white ball will land on a number anywhere from 0 to 36. The player would have to
guess what number the ball is going to land on and they will have to tell the dealer this
beforehand to set things in motion.

Although this game is quite exciting to play, the odds of you winning at this game is
quite low. Still, this isn’t to say that you shouldn’t play roulette because it is really a fun
game to play.

In today’s article, I will be providing you with some key information on how to win at
roulette in a live casino.

Before we get started, if you are going to play roulette in an actual casino and you’re still
learning how the game is actually played, it is best that you sit on a table that is not too
crowded. This way, you can take your time and make a calculated guess as the
pressure is not as high compared to tables where a lot of players are betting.

That said, you start playing the game by placing your bets. In most casinos, the
minimum required bet is $20, but you actually have the freedom to put in how much you want.

Once you place your bets, the dealer will then convert your cash into chips which you
can place on the green felt table. This is done because, by law, you are not allowed to
wager actual money at the game but the casino chips are representative of the money
that you’ve placed to buy them. In most instances, a single chip corresponds to $1,
though it could signify a bigger denomination.

Once you’ve received your chips, it is now time to place it on the table. Do not worry as
there is a designated spot on the table where you should put them.

Betting on Numbers

This is the simplest form of betting at the roulette table. You basically guess what
number the ball could probably land on and tell the dealer about it. You can choose any
number from 0 to 36 and hope that the ball lands there. Each bet pays 35 to 1. So let’s
say that you guessed the number 10 and the ball does land on that specific number,
you are going to receive 35 chips that are equal to $35.

There are some casinos that would require you to put a minimum bet. For instance, a
$5 bet is not exactly 5 dollars, per se, but it is actually just the number of chips (that
correspond to that value) that you should put in on the table to start winning.

The Coin Flip

In some casinos, they offer you the chance to win the game through a coin flip. This is
what I call the coin flip bet and it pays 1 to 1. So for example, if you place a minimum
bet of $5 and if you want, you get to have your original wager plus another $5 as well.

This has become quite the popular mode of roulette game simply because your odds of
winning are 50/50. You either choose which color the ball will land or what number
range they’re going to stop on.
